You did it. You finally made it to your gorgeous water villa at Bocas Bali Resort. After a few days luxuriating at our relaxing Panama resort, you may want to consider mixing things up with a Bocas Del Toro day trip to Red Frog Beach. After all, it would be silly not to take advantage of the indefinite archipelago adventures surrounding you, especially when it’s taken so long to get here.
Getting to Red Frog Beach
Making your way to Red Frog Beach is more straightforward than you’d think. Hop on a boat from the center of Bocas Town, Panama (Isla Colon). Most boat drivers charge about $3.50 to $5.00 one way. After about a ten-minute boat ride, you’ll arrive at the Marina in Bastimentos (Red Frog Marina), and then make your way to whatever excursion suits your fancy.
Red Frog Beach is famous for its sugar-like sand beaches and pristine blue sea. Plus, it’s less than a ten-minute walk from Red Frog Marina! You’ll never have to carefully wade into the Caribbean to get used to the water because the temperature is always warm. Take advantage of these prime beach conditions and consider renting a kayak, SUP board, or snorkel gear, so you can see what lies just beneath the waves.
Some days, the water might be too rough for swimming conditions. Luckily, there are plenty of land-based escapades to sate your thirst for adventure. Thrill-seekers will love the Bastimentos Sky Zip-Line Canopy Tour. If heights aren’t your thing, go on a nature hike through the jungle. They even have cave tours for the brave of heart (or those who aren’t claustrophobic).
